2.75 mile loop in Stratton, VT
The Grout Pond Loop is another easy trail with beautiful views. The trail has blue blazes (YAY!) and for part of the trail you are on the Catamount Trail. It is a mix of dirt and wooden planks.
We spotted a new flower for us which turns out to be an oxalis or mountain shamrock, and also saw other wildflowers including tall buttercups and fox-and-cubs or the devil’s paintbrush. Since Todd was with me when I first saw this flower at Hamilton Falls, I decided to call it fox-and-cubs.
There are two notable quartz rocks on this trail and of course we found beautiful tree things, like the dish, knife and spoon and a giant burl.
