The trailhead is located at 1574 Echo Lake Rd, Watertown, CT which has a convenient parking lot. The trail ends in the woods. (4.15 miles and 2.5 hrs). It meets up with the Mattatuck so we followed that section to the dropped car at 1662-850 Thomaston Rd, Watertown, CT which added 1.35 miles for a total of 5.5 miles.
The Jericho Trail is a very pretty trail with some great rock and water features. It is posted as 3.4 miles, but it is actually a little over 4 miles and it ends in the woods, so in order to get to parking, it is even longer. We didn’t make the best time on this trail because we had to be careful with our footing. Being a fall day, much of the trail was covered in leaves and we couldn’t be sure if we were stepping on solid ground especially going downhill and over rockier sections. There were also a lot of fallen trees and debris on the trail that.
Most notable on this trail was the gigantic quartz rock near the end of the trail. It is absolutely beautiful!
Overall it is a great trail. I would avoid this area on a wet day. A good portion of the trail is made up of rock and it is also hilly.
