Lead Mine Trails

10 Shattuck Road, Sturbridge, MA – various trail ~ 8.4 miles and 3.5 hrs

Sturbridge is a convenient half way spot for Brooke and me, so when I researched hiking in the area, the Emerald Lagoon seemed like a must see. I found a site that mentioned the Mountain Laurel and Raven Rookery Trail to get to the lagoon. I saw another site that recommended this address for parking, which is referred to as Parking #3 and it was a great spot. It gave us convenient access to the trails, but is also only a 10 minute walk to the Emerald Lagoon. I am happy to report that it really is green and beautiful!

We looked at the map to plot out a longer loop, and ended up just winging it. We started on Camp Robinson to Arbutus to Knife’s Edge (highly advise taking). From there, the order gets spotty, but we hiked some 7 Ridges, Raven Rookery, Mountain Laurel. We also hiked all of Cowstile, Pinelands, and Pogus.

The trails here were well maintained and the sights are all very pretty.
