A Taste of Smuggler’s Notch

Rte 108 or The Mountain Road, Stowe Vermont

Unfortunately for me, today was a rainy and foggy day. Since it wasn’t going to be a good hiking day I put on street clothes: dress, tights, leather purse and Nine West boots. This proved to be dumb, because as we drove through Smuggler’s Notch the rain had cleared and I wanted nothing more than to hike those beautiful boulders.

I am honestly not sure where I was when I stopped, if it counts as a visitor center or what, but there was a parking lot with bathrooms and kiosks with trail maps and boulders. So many awesome boulders!

Despite my poor attire, we did get out and climb a little bit, but I forced myself to stop. Number one, we all know that I go boom when I climb on wet rocks, number two, I was in a short dress and tights, number three, I did not have water with me. So as much as it pained me to, I turned back and went to see a glassblower in Stowe instead.
