Rocky Mountain National Park

East entrance through Estes Park, down to Bear Lake and not sure where we came out…

What a treasure this park is! We barely scratched the surface of it’s beauty, but seriously everything we saw was phenomenal. We drove through the the majority of the sections that we visited, puling over occasionally to walk around, and we did park and get out to enjoy a walk around Bear Lake, and a small hike up to Nymph and Dream Lakes and back. We saw several animals including deer, chipmunks (theirs are cool little chunk-a-munks with gray and different striping than New England’s), a stellar’s jay (really vivid blue), and trout. We were hoping to see elk and moose, but they eluded us. We did however get to see an elk on our way home — in a dog park of all places!
