Scovill Loop Trail

3600 River Road , Middletown, CT ~ 2.33 miles and 55 mins

Still scorching out we continued on the trek of small trails and headed to the Scovill Loop. This trail is easy with no notable inclines. There is a northern loop and a southern loop. The northern loop brings you down to the Connecticut River and along some rail road tracks.

Cool findings included:

  • a mysterious little fry guy
  • an oak sapling with leaves larger than a 20oz. coffee mug
  • canada mayflowers
  • a rock bridge
  • quartz rocks
  • honeysuckle
  • some teeny-tiny little shells
  • pink azalea aka pinxterbloom plant
  • a cool green rock

Since it was over 90 degrees we called it and decided to come back another day to do the little half mile trail across the street. We opted for frozen margaritas and snacks at Coyote Blue instead. Pretty trails + great company + good food and drinks = a perfect day!
